A PIECE OF THE MICK

For six fleeting days, Target stores nationwide provided collectors the opportunity to purchase limited edition 2006 Topps Factory sets that included a special Mickey Mantle relic card.

The sets were available from November 26, through December 2. The traditional 664-card base set was accompanied by one of four Mickey Mantle relics. The relics originated from one black and one red and one white casual shirt along with a 1970s-inspired black and white checkered suit. All three pieces were obtained directly from the Mantle estate which has an exclusive licensing deal with Topps.

STAN BAHNSEN!!!!!!!!

Stan Bahnsen comes back to his hometown of Council Bluffs, Iowa!

We met Stan Bahnsen!!!!! Mr. Bahnsen signed a Major League ball for us and inscribed it 1968 A.L. R.O.Y.!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We had the pleasure of meeting Stan at Trinity Luthern School on Sat. Aug. 12th. He signed autographs for those on hand and raised money by free will donation. The Marsh Collection was happy to make a donation and meet Mr. Bahnsen, a true gentleman of baseball.

Thank you for visiting our site! We hope that you'll enjoy reading about our collection and the former players we have become friends with. We have accumulated many historical items such as original seats from Municipal Stadium in Omaha where Jackie Robinson, Satchel Paige, and many former K.C. Monarch greats played. The original glove and spikes used by Ann Kmezich in the National Girls Baseball League, early examples of baseball cards from the turn of the 20th century and a napkin signed by Joe Dimaggio at his restraunt during his playing days are part of the permanent collection, as well as an autographed George Brett game used bat from 1990. Much could be pondered about these articles from the past, all having HISTORICAL significance, yet much more than that is their story.

"It Started in 1988. I bought my first pack of Topps cards (when they used to put gum inside). We've produce authorized memorabilia for former professional players of the Negro League, and the National Girls Baseball League. We've displayed traveling exhibits, given brief lectures on WWII baseball, professional women's baseball, and the Negro Leagues to a spectrum of audiences ranging from grade school classes through college. Did Bob Gibson Play there?
It has been told by many good ol’ boys that Hall of Fame pitcher
Bob Gibson once played on the historic diamond in Southwest Iowa.
My Grandfather, Keith Gunderson, said “Yeah, I caught him – he was wild.”
I had a chance meeting with Mr. Gibson in 2000 and asked him the fabled question, “Did you ever play in Beebeetown, Iowa?” He replied, “Haven’t heard that in years. Yes – played there when I was about 13 years old.”
Folklore became fact that day, and my Grandfather’s tale – a legend.
